DO CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENTS HURT?

When you get a chiropractic adjustment, you may hear a popping sound, which results from air being released from your joints. You may feel sore for a couple of days following the treatment, but in general, no, it is rare for chiropractic adjustments to hurt.

CAN I DO A CHIROPRACTIC ADJUSTMENT ON MYSELF?

No. As previously mentioned, in order to ensure chiropractic adjustments are safe, they need to be done by a licensed chiropractor. Chiropractic care requires extensive education, training, and experience. You cannot do a chiropractic adjustment on yourself.

Yes, you can receive chiropractic care during pregnancy. Chiropractic care can ease symptoms of pregnancy and help you have a smoother labor and delivery. It’s important to work with a chiropractor who knows how to work with pregnant people. This includes having adjustable tables and knowing what position you should be in and how to conduct their treatments to avoid putting pressure on your stomach.

IS CHIROPRACTIC CARE SAFE FOR CHILDREN?

Yes, children can receive chiropractic care. Children are very active and can get into all sorts of trouble, which can lead to many different musculoskeletal issues, such as neck pain, back pain, stiffness, and more. It’s important to work with a chiropractor who knows how to perform chiropractic adjustments on children, to ensure that their growing body is helped by the treatment, rather than impacted by it.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AT MY FIRST CHIROPRACTIC APPOINTMENT?

At your first chiropractic appointment, you can expect your chiropractor to ask you questions about you and your health history, in order to get a full picture of what is going on and how best to treat you. They will also perform a physical evaluation. From there, they’ll go over treatment options and plans with you. Depending on your specific concerns, you may either receive your first adjustment during that first appointment, or it may be done at your second appointment.
